Course Content
- The course takes place in MTU Cork School of Music and is supported by MTU Cork School of Music.
- There will be a maximum of 22 participant places and unlimited observer places.
- There will be piano accompaniment with all practical conducting sessions.
- A senior string quartet will accompany the pianist for some of the practical sessions.
- Participants are requested to take part in the participant ensemble, which will also play during practical sessions.
- Sessions will be in baton technique, score preparation and practical conducting.
- All sessions will be video recorded and participants’ videos will be made available via private link on YouTube. We will attempt to share them on the day they are recorded.
- Participants may bring a piece they have worked on or will work on with their orchestras. Please include this on your application form if you wish to study it. It will be necessary to provide parts.
